Cookies & Local Storage
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit websites. Some sites also use "local storage," a related browser feature that saves small amounts of data on your device. RelayTix uses both minimally and responsibly, mainly to keep signed-in users authenticated and to remember your preferences.
What We Use
Essential (Required)
These are necessary for the site to function. We can't turn them off.
- Authentication — Keeps you signed into admin and scanner interfaces (stored in your browser's local storage)
- Scanner session — Remembers venue scanner authentication between pages
- Cookie consent — Remembers your consent choice
- Security — Helps prevent fraud and unauthorized access
Analytics (Optional)
We may use anonymous analytics to understand how people use our site. Where used, this data is aggregated and cannot identify you individually.
- Page views and navigation patterns
- Popular events and features
- Error tracking and bug detection
- Site performance metrics
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use:
- Stripe — Payment processing and fraud prevention (required for checkout)
- Vercel — Website hosting and performance optimization
These services have their own privacy policies that govern how they use cookies.
How Long They Last
- Admin and venue sign-in — Stored in local storage until you log out or the token expires
- Scanner authentication — Persists until you manually log out
- Cookie consent — Remembered until you clear your browser storage
- Third-party session cookies — Managed by Stripe and Vercel under their own policies
Managing Your Cookies & Storage
You can control cookies and clear local storage through your browser:
Browser Settings
Most browsers let you:
- View and delete existing cookies and site data
- Block all cookies (warning: may break site functionality)
- Block third-party cookies only
- Clear data when you close your browser
Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and site data
Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Note:
Clearing essential cookies and site data will sign you out of admin features and the scanner. You'll still be able to browse events and purchase tickets.
Do Not Track
We respect "Do Not Track" browser signals. If we add optional analytics in the future, we will not enable them when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. Essential cookies and storage remain in place, as they are required for the site to function.
Mobile Devices
On mobile browsers, you can manage cookies and site data through:
- iOS Safari: Settings → Safari → Block All Cookies / Clear History and Website Data
- Android Chrome: Chrome menu → Settings → Site settings → Cookies
Changes to This Policy
We may update this cookie policy as we add or remove features. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version. Check this page occasionally for updates.
