Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

Welcome to RelayTix

By using RelayTix ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our service. We're here to help you get tickets with transparent, low fees compared to the industry's much higher service charges.

How RelayTix Works

  • RelayTix provides the ticketing technology that venues and event organizers use to sell tickets
  • We charge a service fee on ticket purchases, and payment processing fees are passed through to you
  • All fees are always shown before you pay
  • Tickets are issued as secure, single-use QR codes validated in real time at the venue
  • All ticket sales are final once purchased, except as described below

Who You're Buying From

RelayTix is the ticketing platform, not always the seller. For most events, the venue or event organizer is the seller and merchant of record: they run the event, set the ticket price, and are responsible for refunds where they apply. For some events, RelayTix acts as the merchant of record. In every case, the seller of record for your order is responsible for the event itself and for any refunds owed.

If you're not sure who you purchased from, contact us and we'll point you to the right party.

Fees

When you buy a ticket, your total may include:

  • Ticket price — set by the venue or event organizer
  • Service fee — a per-ticket fee that supports the platform
  • Payment processing fees — passed through from our payment processor
  • Sales tax — where the venue collects it, applied to the ticket price
  • Optional donations or add-ons — only if you choose to add them

Every line of your total is shown before you confirm payment. Nothing is hidden.

Purchasing Tickets

All Sales Are Final

We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or cancellations for any reason except if an event is officially cancelled by the organizer.

  • Double-check event details before purchasing
  • Ensure you can attend before buying tickets
  • Tickets cannot be refunded for personal schedule changes
  • Weather, artist changes, or venue changes do not qualify for refunds
  • No refunds for change of mind or inability to attend
  • Donations and optional add-ons are non-refundable

Event Cancellations

The ONLY exception to our no-refund policy is when an event is officially cancelled by the organizer:

  • The seller of record for your order will process the refund
  • Refunds typically arrive within 5–7 business days
  • You'll receive the full ticket price including the service fee
  • Refunds go back to your original payment method
  • Postponed or rescheduled events are NOT considered cancelled

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information when purchasing
  • Keep your ticket information secure (email and card last 4 digits)
  • Access your tickets using the email and card you used to purchase
  • Have your ticket QR code ready on your phone at the venue
  • Follow all venue rules and regulations
  • Don't share your ticket access credentials with others

Ticket Access & QR Codes

Your tickets are accessed via our secure system:

  • You'll receive an email with instructions to view your tickets
  • Tickets are retrieved using your email and last 4 digits of your payment card
  • Each ticket has a unique QR code for venue entry
  • Screenshots of QR codes are acceptable for entry
  • Keep your QR codes private — anyone with the code can use the ticket
  • Internet access may be required to retrieve tickets initially

What We're NOT Responsible For

RelayTix is a ticketing platform. We're not responsible for:

  • Event quality, cancellations, postponements, or schedule changes
  • Artist performances, lineup changes, or no-shows
  • Venue conditions, policies, or accessibility
  • Weather conditions or "acts of God"
  • Your ability to attend the event
  • Lost or stolen phones or tickets
  • Venue entry denial for non-ticket-related reasons

Ticket Security & Fraud Prevention

Our tickets are designed to prevent fraud and counterfeiting:

  • Each ticket has a unique QR code tied to your order
  • Tickets can only be retrieved with your email and payment card verification
  • Venues scan QR codes to validate authenticity in real time
  • Each ticket can only be used once — duplicate scans are rejected
  • Sharing or selling tickets outside our platform may void them

Venue Data Sharing

When you purchase tickets, the venue or event organizer receives your:

  • Name and email address
  • Phone number (if provided)
  • Purchase timestamp and ticket count
  • Ticket validation status

This allows venues to manage entry, provide customer service, and analyze their events. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  • Use bots or automated systems to purchase tickets
  • Purchase tickets for resale at inflated prices
  • Share ticket access credentials with unauthorized parties
  • Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise our systems
  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Provide false or fraudulent information

Account Security

For admin and venue scanner access:

  • Keep your passwords confidential
  • Don't share scanner codes with unauthorized personnel
  • Log out after using shared or public devices
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

Privacy & Data

We take your privacy seriously. See our Privacy Policy for complete details on how we handle your information.

Disputes & Limitations

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for tickets. We're not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, consequential damages, or punitive damages.

These terms are governed by Idaho law. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Moscow, Idaho, except where prohibited by law.

Modification of Service

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue features with or without notice
  • Change service fees with notice to venues and event organizers
  • Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version. For material changes affecting an active order, we may notify you by email. Continued use of RelayTix after changes means you accept the new terms.
